Floorboards: the 1.1.1 Cuppi update

Hot on the heels of our massive 1.1.0 release, we’re back with version 1.1.1, the Floorboards Update! This release packs a blend of user-requested feature upgrades, a new referral programme, and smoother day-to-day UI touches.

Referral Supercharge & Lifetime Pro

Sharing Cuppi with friends just got a whole lot sweeter.

When you invite someone to start a NEW Cuppi Home, users who sign up with your Referral Code now get 2 full months of Cuppi Pro for free (up from our standard 1-month trial). Once they make their first paid month of Pro (and don’t cancel within the 14-day window), you’ll receive a 1-month Pro voucher as a thank you!

To turbo-charge this even further:

• Points & Perks: Every successful conversion earns you points toward unlocking Cuppi Lifetime Pro.
• Lower Threshold: We’ve reduced the Lifetime Pro requirement from 25 conversions down to just 12!
• 72-Hour Grace Period: Forgot to enter a referral code during sign-up? No worries. Codes can be added up to 72 hours after building a home on the Subscription page.
• How to Join: Head over to Settings > “Refer friends, earn Pro” in the app to grab your code.

Note: Referral codes apply exclusively to creators of new Cuppi Homes, as household members joining an existing home are not designated home owners.

New Registration & Onboarding

We spent months crafting the new look for our registration and home setup experience, and we’re thrilled to finally share it with you. Expect gentle blue background animations alongside big, bold typography designed to guide new users seamlessly into their first Cuppi Home.

2-Step Verification

Security is paramount, so we’ve refined the setup flow for 2-Step Verification. We’ve embedded an easy-to-follow video directly in the app that walks you through what used to sound like a complicated process. If you ever hit a snag or have technical questions, our support team is just a tap away in chat.

Testing new languages

The UK is one of the most culturally diverse places on earth, with over 300 languages spoken every day in London alone. We’ve

started experimenting with in-app localisation to test how Cuppi handles multi-language support across complex views.

Our first test language? Hungarian! (Fun fact: Hungarian is often ranked among the top three hardest languages to learn for English speakers. Flex!) You can preview this right now under App Settings.

Bugs crushed, looks and usage improved

Behind the scenes, we’ve executed an extensive amount of infrastructure work to make Cuppi safer, faster, and visually tighter:

• Snappier Feel: While the core interfaces for Budgeting and Receipts remain familiar, refactoring means navigating between tabs feels significantly smoother and more responsive.
• 1,000 Hours Milestone: Last week, our core development tally officially crossed 1,000 active coding hours this year, averaging 6.06 hours a day (including weekends!).
